"You're in my top 20 favorite people, I mean you're number 1, but that's still in the top 20."
Life has been wonderful! I have my 3 jobs lined up for the fall, am becoming a supervisor at one of said jobs, have a tutoring job lined up, have a babysitting job lined up, am going to Tahoe in less than one week (!!!), went school shopping and got an awesome lunch tote (I am such a girl...), and I have a very special person in my life.
I can only thank God for blessing me with all that I have been given. I am now happy girl!
Getting healthy physically, mentally, spiritually. Maybe not all at once, but remember, it's a lifestyle change.

things that normal people don't care about
Today I didn't work until 12:30 and needed to do something, so being the random gal that I am, I decided to go on a run. It has been WAY too long since I last ran and I was feeling it, but I felt so good afterwards that I think I just need to get my behind out of bed to run when I wake up.
In other news that no one cares about, I have been looking at the ingredients in my beauty products and most of them have some form of alcohol, which boggles my mind! I don't care what kind of alcohol it is, in my mind it means either getting drunk or drying stuff out. So I pulled a hipster move last night and ordered VEGAN Shampoo Bar and Body Butter. I really wanted the stuff from www.lushusa.com but holy moly, it was way too expensive and most of the stuff had a form of alcohol in it, NOT COOL. So finally I went on Etsy and found so many awesome products that just happen to be local to Boise! They are handmade and contain only natural ingredients, I am so excited to try them and see if they help my skin and hair.

we meet again!
Well I can honestly say that a lot has changed in these last 4 months! I was my best friends maid-of-honor in May, I finished my first semester at Boise State, I moved into a townhouse with my amiga Sarah, I now work at Quiznos (sandwiches must hold a special place in my heart or something...), there are lots of preggo people in my life (by lots I mean 3), I got adventurous again with my hair (HELLLLLO ombre blonde chunks), I am a real life adult paying for my car and rent and groceries, I think I found a church that I really like, and there is something that I will not say as I don't want to jinx it.
I have also really grown as a person in 4 months, I have finally started saying no to people when I feel overwhelmed, granted I am still a people pleaser, but that is just who I am. I have also had to learn to be okay with being by myself at home, I hate it but I've learned to live with it! Most importantly, I have realized that God has huge plans for me and my future, things are falling into place and I love every minute of it, God's plans are so worth the wait, and I am willing to wait!
Life in Boise is wonderful and I love it here! I wish that I had more opportunities to go home and hang out with my family and puppies or see my best friends or watch my little buddy grow into a big boy! There are some things that I will never stop missing no matter how happy I am in Boise.

so ridiculously blessed
I have honestly been so blessed recently! I have found a church that i really like and I think that I can grow with the church as it grows. I have found a WONDERFUL Bible study with AMAZING girls. I have become a member of the worship team and I love it, love the people, love singing, love praising God. I love InterVaristy and it has given me something to look forward to at the end of the week and it has given me friends that I know will be there for me. I got another job, I'm a math tutor now! I passed my Idaho drivers license test, bye bye Cali! I have somewhere to live for at least 2 years! I have money for groceries, which is very exciting. And I'm still able to graduate in spring of 2014 even though my 4-year plan got all messed up because of residency!!
I know that these things don't happen because of me, it's all God!
I know that these things don't happen because of me, it's all God!
no more 3 hour naps
So the other night I couldn't sleep, AT ALL, it may have had something to do with that 3 hour nap i had taken earlier that day... but cut me some slack it was daylight savings!
In hopes of falling asleep faster, I thought it would be smart to write down the thoughts in my head, these are the results:
In hopes of falling asleep faster, I thought it would be smart to write down the thoughts in my head, these are the results:
- paint-on mirrors? (i wanted to paint a mirror on my wall...)
- walls: can i paint them?
- thank mom for the red table she gave me in 5th grade
- don't take 3 hour naps
- mirror with cool frame hanging from door
- spraypaint?
- get a blender
- make strawberry lemonade slushies
- can i have that bike?
- need a bigger skillet
- no more 3 hour naps
- pantry list: sugar, flour, baking soda, rice, baking powder, brown sugar
- simmer pasta in milk
- change address
- carpenter friends?!
So moral of the story is, I'm crazy.

God- 3 Brooke- 0
So, today I went out to embark on a journey to the DMV. Gag. I was up until 3am the night (or day) before writing an essay, so I didn't wake up until 10. I showered and got ready in time to make the bus. I had a letter to pick up from the mail so that i had proof of address for the DMV, so with 10 minutes until the bus came, I went and picked up the mail. Of course, with my luck, he bus came early, and left me stranded.
So, I had to walk downtown, which isn't a long walk and it isn't hard but I got lost amongst the tunnels. No bueno. I finally made it to the bus stop, tired and hungry, but I made it. Plus I got to talk to a nearly blind man (remember this man for later in the post).
So I finally made it to the DMV and waited a whole 10 seconds to talk to an attendant. She told me that my proof of address was incorrect and I would have to come back with a better one. Umm no. Sorry I don't ride the bus for fun. So I trekked my way to FedEx to PAY for internet and print out a better proof of address. Not cool guys, not cool. Went back to the DMV and got everything sorted out, picture taken and such. Then I had to take the written test, 40 questions, easy peasy? No. I missed one too many, I only had one more to go, and I missed it. So now I have to go back on Monday. Again, no bueno. But I'm confident that I will pass this time and so is the nice old lady who helped me.
So as I am upset and leaving the DMV (there may have been a few tears, don't judge) I realize that the bus won't come to my spot for 40 minutes! 40! Might I add that it was freezing today and windy. Very windy. So I had to walk all the way to the mall, ITS FAR WHEN YOUR WALKING, and wait for the bus there. So I'm at the bus stop, sulking and upset with my current situation, when a young mother with 2 kids comes into the bus stop. They were wearing dirty clothes and smelt like they hadn't showered in a few weeks. The kids were crying and the mom, dirty hair and all, was telling them to just calm down and be patient.
Well, it was about that time that I stopped caring about not passing my written test and having to walk all the way to the mall in my clean clothes and brushed hair. God had been throwing these things at me and I was just ignoring them. In the midst of my bad mood, there was a blind man and that poor mom. I was neither of those things and yet I was upset that my life was so "hard." God does funny things like that.
But anyways, Bible study was awesome, the lesson was meant for my situation that I am in (God thing), and I got to go iceskating! I only fell once, I mean I wouldn't let go of my friends hands, but still I only fell once!
Also I am almost down with my essay that is due tomorrow (or today... EEK) and all because my friend went with me to the library form 9pm to midnight.
Seriously the Lord has blessed me beyond reason and I am so grateful!

boo, i'm back
I must say that a lot has changed since September 2011. It's funny to look back and think that that wasn't even a long time ago, 5 months, wow!
I am now in Boise, ID and loving it. This is my new home and I think that (if it's Gods will) I will be here for a while. I love my classes and they are really challenging who I am and ho I want to be in my career. I have a great job where I can listen to music, eat, and people watch, granted I'm stuck at a computer all day, but HEY, I do love people watching. Living in a house with 6 girls is definitely new, but fun! I can honestly say that I have learned so much from these 3 months of being here. The most important thing I have learned is that not everyone is going to like me, and that is okay. I can't be everyones best friend, no matter how sad that makes me, it's life and as my suite mate says, "such is life."
I am happy to say that I have not gained the "Freshman 15" or in my case the "Sophomore 15." And all I have to say to that is praise the Lord. I am working out more and trying to eat semi-healthy, but this whole buying my own groceries and cooking my own meals thing is hard, hence the semi-healthy.
Also, I have been going to InterVarsity on campus and absolutely love it. I found a Bible study and a church and am so blessed. And recently I've been singing with the worship team, which I love more than anything. Being around people who are so spiritually grounded is really important to me and it has been bringing me closer to God.
I also found a new house to live in for the next year! YAY!!! It was such a God thing and I am so happy!
I'm also going to be Maid of Honor in my beautiful friends wedding and CAN NOT wait until May!
Well I have a 7 page research paper due on Thursday and will most likely be staying up all night to get it done, this is college.

are you ready for some...
what i should have
tonight, while on facebook i came across a profile that made me smile, and think. all of the statuses were thankful and happy and had cheerful bible verses. she was saying how much god was blessing her life and how happy she is. seeing all of that, i wanted it. sometimes all it takes is seeing others happiness to make you realize what you could have. so thank you, random facebooker, so guess who's doing bible study tomorrrrrow?
also, i am on facebook too much. i am really considering deleting it but, i probably won't follow through.
in other news, intent to enroll ;)

"because i knew you, i have been changed for good."
i read an article that made me cry. i mean not little tears, but big ugly tears. i don't know why but it did.
it really made me think of the kind of person that i am, how i treat other people, how i want to live my life, how i spend my time, the love i show to people even strangers. it made me want to hug my parents forever because i know one day they won't be here. it made me want to call my best friend and tell her that i love her. it made me want to apologize to the people that i have recently hurt. it made me want to spend time with my little sister because soon she will be in college, married, and all grown up.
i don't want to have regrets, i don't want to live my life and not change someone's life. i want to help others, to love others, to give a child the love that they don't receive at home.
so to everyone reading this, even though it may be few, i love you, you are beautiful, and you mean the world to someone.

priorities
these last two days have been really hard on me. why? i have no idea, but anytime i see something remotely upsetting or sad or mean, i just want to cry. but i'm over it now.
i think that when i got called out on my 'immaturity' it really shook me. i wasn't ready for it and it made me take a look at my actions. when i stress out about things, i don't just talk about it or ask for help, i freak out and lash out. but i lash out sometimes in anger (it doesn't happen a lot though), sadness (i just cry and shut down), or immaturity. i don't like that about myself but at least i recognize it now and can work on it.
i want to be a good person and i now understand that i can't do it without god being a main priority. he is always on my mind but lately other things have gotten in the way, and that breaks my heart to even say that.
god, family, friends, and i'll fit school in there i guess...

i say i'm sorry a lot
wah.
so, i have a large personality flaw and i would really like to fix it. it comes out at inappropriate times and it screws me over in the end.
being young at heart is good at sometimes and bad at others. i need to control my "youthfulness." if that makes sense at all. someone told me that i act older than i really am yesterday but i totally took 500 steps back today.
i'm sorry for being immature. i really am trying.

no regrets
i have no regrets.
i have done some silly, stupid things in my time but i have no regrets. every dollar i have spent, every boy i have kissed, every yes or no i have said. i can honestly say that i have no regrets. just lessons learned.
anyways, i need to get back to the gym, getting sick can really make you not want to work out, but i am still motivated, more than ever really. with all of the uncertainty in my life right now, i know that when i go tot the gym, i will run and work my hardest. i never thought i would say this, but working out i a part of my life?! ahhh, revelation time.

runnin' runnin'
tonight i went to the gym after a 2 day break. i didn't mean to not go to the gym but i haven't had enough time to go (i know, i know, excuses, excuses). so i made time after work to go work out.
tonight was a cardio kind of night, so i got on to the cross trainer, set my goal time, turned up the dubstep, and got to it. then, it hit me, i wanted to die. i was so tired and i had only been on for 10 minutes. so i had to clear my mind, listen to the bass of my music and go. and i did. when i finally looked down at the minutes remaining, i was at 5 minutes. THANK GOODNESS. i was so caught up in my music and everyone else at the gym that i didn't want to pass out anymore.
going to the gym has become a habit. and i must say that of all habits, this would be one to pick up. when i am at the gym i feel good, like i am doing something to better myself. it is my choice to be there, and i make the choice to work out. this is something that i am doing for myself. not for doctors or boys or anyone. i want this. i make the choice to get sweaty and have sore feet. it's worth it, and it will always be worth it.
things that i learned tonight:
-dubstep keeps me motivated and gets me excited
-once i am past the 15 minute mark of my cardio, it really is smooth sailing
-i can do anything i put my heart to

but who's counting
so, just a fun fact, i have lost 20 pounds since january. that boggles my mind, like how does that even happen? all i know is that i want to lose 20 more. i am doing it for me. not for my friends, or 'bros', or anyone else.
hopefully by december, i will have lost another 20 pounds, and for all of you non-math majors, that would be 40 pounds! holy goodness! but really, who's counting
hopefully by december, i will have lost another 20 pounds, and for all of you non-math majors, that would be 40 pounds! holy goodness! but really, who's counting
in the words of my mommy, it just doesn't matter
so i have grown up. i am at a point in my life where i don't care what people think of me. i need to do what is best for my future.
when i say i don't care, i don't mean it in a mean hearted way, but i have noticed that i have been a 'yes' person, i have trouble saying no. recently i have been doing me, others opinions don't influence me as much as they have in the past.
i have been fixing myself. it isn't easy and it is really confusing sometimes, but i know that with god, my family, and friends who my best interest in mind, i will succeed.
i am still me. i'm still happy. i just don't care.

day 1?
i have def fallen off of the work out wagon. i am a little mentally frazzled with school and everything. but tonight i am working out again for the first time in... like a week? that makes me feel really gross. but i have only regained one pound, which is a pretty big deal since i haven't been doing anything, ANYTHING. i mean eating mac and cheese, cookies, ben & jerrys. it's bad.
i need to get on track again, with school and everything picking back up again, i need to get physically healthy so that i keep my stress under control.
so in regards to this whole p90x thing, i love it, i really do, but i think it may be a little too ambitious for me at the moment. i am making a new workout plan. 5 days working out, 2 days of yoga, and eating healthy ie. veggies, fruits, yogurts, and not too much prosessed stuff. i will take some of my p90 workouts and use them in the 5 days of working out, but i like to call this p90a-little-less-x.

day 15
i am out of my funk, thank goodness (and carlee).
today at work i said, "i'm tired." someone responded that it's probably because i don't let myself rest unless i'm sleeping (they know me too well). i realized that i need to rest, i am always going going going, i am always on a mission to get something done and even if it's not physically challenging, my mind is always going 10,000 miles a minute.
i needed to skip p90 today, yea, i'm slacking, but yea, i need a break. with school starting soon, all i really want to do is work and workout. and i needed this break to get me ready for that.
side note: i love my friends. god has blessed me with amazing people that serve different roles in my life. i love all of them (you know who you are).
love god, love others

and on the 14th day, she rested?
so, i'm in a funk. i am taking my break today. simple as that.
p90x has really shown me who i am, my work ethic, and it is making me grow in every way.
but i'm still taking a break.

day 13
i fail at p90x.
i am not doing my best, i am not finishing the workouts, and i am so tired. i just want to get them over with and be thin. buuuuut this is real life. and that sucks. on the plus side i have lost 6 pounds and i don't want to stop, and yes, i realize that if i keep failing at my workouts, i won't lose any more weight. darn. i need some major motivation. if anyone is feeling wonderful, MOTIVATE ME. thanks.
so even though i am not doing well at this whole getting healthy physically, i am doing okay at the whole mental thing. i took all of my pictures off of facebook and totally cleaned it up. i'm over everyone seeing everything about my life, and the only thing i use it for is to say that i have a new blog entry. facebook is dead to me (i'm so dramatic...).
ugh, anyways, love yourself?
